Life insurance is a must for everyone, providing financial security for your loved ones in the event of your passing. As a key financial planning tool, life insurance ensures that your family is protected from financial burdens such as mortgage payments, outstanding debts, and daily living expenses.
In Canada, insurance brokers play a vital role in helping you find the right coverage by comparing quotes from multiple insurers, ensuring you get the best policy for your needs and budget. They assess your unique situation and guide you through the process, helping you understand the benefits of different coverage options.
However, honesty is a must when applying for life insurance - if you lie on your life insurance application, insurers may deny your claim or cancel your policy, leaving your beneficiaries without the financial support they were counting on. By working with an experienced insurance broker, you can secure the right coverage with transparency and peace of mind.
I have worked in commercial insurance since being hired by Western Financial Group in 2012 (then Falkins Insurance). Previous to my time in insurance I obtained a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Geography from the University of Victoria. Upon finishing University in a recession & having no prospective careers I went backpacking in South America. When I returned to Canada, I briefly did taxes and then attended Sauder School of Business in the Diploma of Accounting Program. After completing two thirds of the program, I moved to Fernie BC & landed in my current profession. I bring a unique perspective to insurance being well versed on environmental hazards & is considerate of profit and expenses for each business I work with.
I offer an honest and transparent explanation of misunderstood coverages and offer options to fit all clients needs. While working in the Kootenays, I have worked diligently to develop long standing relationships with established and new organizations.
My clients include builders, contractors, hospitality, developers, not for profits/charities, landlords, sports & fitness outfits, golf courses, short term rentals, stratas/condos, retailers, utility providers, campgrounds, farms, resorts, pharmacies, medical clinics & more.
I am currently licensed for risks in BC & Alberta, although I should have Saskatchewan soon. When I am not working I can be found traveling the globe with my husband & son, mountain biking, snowboarding, cheering on my son at hockey (or soccer) games, gardening, cooking, running, camping or doing yoga.
