Kaslo, a village located on the west shore of Kootenay Lake in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, supports approximately 968 residents.
Built as a sawmill site in the late 19th century, Kaslo experienced a silver boom. Today, the economy of the community is based on forestry and tourism.
The community also features two National Historic Sites, these being the SS Moyie sternwheeler and the wooden Village Hall municipal building constructed in 1898.
