TERMS & CONDITIONS | 2025 National Walk Donation Program
These Terms & Conditions apply to a program in which The Western Financial Group (“Western”) and the Western Communities Foundation (“the Foundation”) intend to select ten (10) qualifying Canadian registered charities (each a “Selected Charity”) and donate $1,000 (each a “Donation”) chosen by the Western Charity Donation Program (the “Charity Donation Program”). In these Terms & Conditions, any reference to “Applicant” refers to and includes any individuals or entity submitting an entry pursuant to the Charity Donation Program, regardless of whether their nominated charity is successful in receiving a grant.
By applying under the Charity Donation Program, all Applicants confirm that they are fully aware of and accept all these Terms & Conditions:
- No purchase is necessary to enter.
- Entries are accepted between May 1, 2025 - May 24, 2025 at 11:59 PM EST
- Entries must be made via posting on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn page per the program rules using hashtags #StepUpAndShare.
- An Applicant may submit one (1) eligible entry. Any subsequent entries by the same Applicant will be void.
- All eligible entries will be entered into a random draw to select ten (10) winning entries by the Foundation.
- To be eligible to win a charitable donation, a qualified charity must be a registered Canadian charity with the Canada Revenue Agency with registered status as of time of donation
disbursement, and that its services is within a community where Western operates in. A charity may be deemed ineligible by Western and at the Foundation’s sole discretion if the charity
is:
- A politically affiliated non-profit, and/or spends a significant amount of time advancing or supporting lobbying for any particular party, candidate, or cause.
- Religious groups for religious purposes, including houses of worship, such as churches, synagogues, mosques, or temples as well as other religious groups.
- Discriminates against any race, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, political orientation, national origin, citizenship, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, or mental or physical disability or condition
- Located in a community where Western has no presence in
- Violates these official rules
- The entry pursuant to the Charity Donation Program does not entitle Applicants to direct a Donation to an Eligible Charity or to any other benefit. Applicants acknowledge that the Charity Donation Program may be terminated, suspended, or modified at any time at the Foundation’s sole discretion.
- The details of the Selected Charity will be announced on Western Financial Group official social media channels on May 27, 2025.
- Each Donation is non-transferrable and will be paid directly to the ten (10) charities as identified in the winning entries by December 31, 2025.
- The Selected Charity must be a registered Canadian charity with the Canada Revenue Agency with registered status at the time of donation disbursement.
- The administration of the Charity Donation Program, including the review of entries, assessment of Applicants, selection of Selected Charity from the random draw, approval or qualification of Eligible Charities, and the distribution of Donations, shall be in the sole and absolute discretion of Western and the Foundation. Without limiting the foregoing, Western and the Foundation, in its sole and absolute discretion, may reject any application that is ineligible, inaccurate, or incomplete.
- Applicants shall not be entitled to recover any costs of submitting an entry in relation to the Charity Donation Program.
- The administration of the Charity Donation Program, including the drawing process thereunder, is subject to Western and the Foundation’s applicable policies, including Western and the Foundation’s Privacy Policy.
- In relation to the Charity Donation Program, Applicants shall not use or permit the use of the name, logo, or any trademarks of Western and the Foundation (or any of its affiliates) without the express prior written consent of Western, the Foundation or its affiliate, as applicable.
- Applicants acknowledge Western and the Foundation may create a variety of promotional content, including on social media, regarding the Charity Donation Program, the Applicants, Selected Charities and the Donations. Applicants agree to permit Western and the Foundation to include in such promotional content portions or the entirety of their entries and to cooperate with reasonable requests by Western and the Foundation in relation to such promotional content.
- In addition to these Terms and Conditions, all Applicants accept and agree to all additional terms and provisions that Western, and the Foundation posts on its website, social media, or otherwise communicates regarding the Charity Donation Program.
- Entries (and any inquiries or other communication related to the Charity Donation Program) may be submitted in French or English.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WESTERN FINANCIAL GROUP (OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES, AGENTS, OR CONTRACTORS, OR ANY OF ANY OF THEIR EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS OR DIRECTORS) HAVE ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSSES, DAMAGES OR CLAIMS WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, HOWSOEVER CAUSED, WHETHER IN TORT, CONTRACT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE CHARITY NOMINATION PROGRAM, EVEN IF ANY OF THE PARTIES ENTITLED TO THE BENEFIT OF THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILTY HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSS, DAMAGE OR CLAIM.
