These Terms & Conditions apply to a program in which The Western Financial Group (“Western”) and the Western Communities Foundation (“the Foundation”) intend to select ten qualifying Canadian registered charities (each a “Selected Charity”) and donate $10,000 (each a “Donation”) chosen by the Western Charity Nomination Program (the “Charity Nomination Program”). In these Terms & Conditions, any reference to “Applicant” refers to and includes any individuals or entity submitting a nomination pursuant to the Charity Nomination Program, regardless of whether their nominated charity is successful in receiving a grant.

By applying under the Charity Nomination Program, all Applicants confirm that they are fully aware of and accept all these Terms & Conditions:

  • 1. No purchase is necessary to enter
  • 2. Nominations are accepted between November 12, 2024 - November 27, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST
  • 3. Nominations must be made via posting a comment on Western Financial Group’s Facebook page using hashtags #100KForGivingTuesday and #GivingTuesdayCA.
  • 4. An Applicant may nominate multiple eligible charities provided it’s one nomination per eligible charity, per Applicant. Any subsequent nominations by an Applicant for the same charity will be void
  • 5. To be eligible to win a charitable donation, a qualified charity must be a registered Canadian charity with the Canada Revenue Agency with registered status as of November 12, 2024. A charity may be deemed ineligible by Western and at the Foundation’s sole discretion if the charity is:
    • a. a politically affiliated non-profit, and/or spends a significant amount of time advancing or supporting lobbying for any particular party, candidate, or cause.
    • b. religious groups for religious purposes, including houses of worship, such as churches, synagogues, mosques, or temples as well as other religious groups.
    • c. Discriminates against any race, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, political orientation, national origin, citizenship, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, or mental or physical disability or condition.
    • d. Violates these official rules.

  • 6. The submission of a nomination pursuant to the Charity Nomination Program does not entitle Applicants to direct a Donation to an Eligible Charity or to any other benefit. Applicants acknowledge that the Charity Nomination Program may be terminated, suspended, or modified at any time at the Foundation’s sole discretion.
  • 7. The details of the Selected Charity will be announced on the GivingTuesday Live Stream event on December 3, 2024 12pm EST and published on the Charity Nomination Program website and Western Financial Group Facebook page.
  • 8. Each Donation is not transferrable and the donation disbursements to Selected Charity will be managed and facilitated by CanadaHelps Canadon (“CanadaHelps”). Each Donation will be paid directly by CanadaHelps by EFT disbursement to each Selected Charity.
  • 9. The Selected Charity must be a registered Canadian charity with the Canada Revenue Agency with registered status at the time of donation disbursement and is registered to receive EFT disbursement from CanadaHelps. Where the Selected Charity is not registered to receive EFT disbursement from CanadaHelps, the Selected Charity will have to register for EFT to enable the disbursement.
  • 10. The administration of the Charity Nomination Program, including the review of nominations, assessment of Applicants, selection of Selected Charity, approval or qualification of Eligible Charities, and the distribution of Donations, shall be in the sole and absolute discretion of Western and the Foundation. Without limiting the foregoing, Western and the Foundation, in its sole and absolute discretion, may reject any application that is ineligible, inaccurate, or incomplete.
  • 11. Applicants shall not be entitled to recover any costs of submitting a nomination in relation to the Charity Nomination Program.
  • 12. The administration of the Charity Nomination Program, including the nomination process thereunder, is subject to Western and the Foundation’s applicable policies, including Western and the Foundation’s Privacy Policy.

Applicants agree to permit Western and the Foundation to include in such promotional content portions or the entirety of their nomination and to cooperate with reasonable requests by Western and the Foundation in relation to such promotional content.
