Western Financial Group Communities Foundation 2024 Indigenous Infrastructure Grants
Western’s commitment to truth and reconciliation remains strong; We are dedicated to supporting our Indigenous team members and the Indigenous communities in which we operate.
In 2021, the Western Financial Group Communities Foundation embarked on a journey of reconciliation, which included establishing the Indigenous Infrastructure Grant Program. This program offers Indigenous municipalities and CRA-Registered Charities the opportunity to receive a $5,000 grant towards a project to support the enhancement, upgrade, and construction of community spaces and assets across Canada. These projects benefit the community’s future by contributing to its strength and resilience, enhancing sustainability, accessibility, health and safety, and creating connections to allow our communities to flourish.
Since 2004, the Communities Foundation has awarded over $2 million in grants, supporting over 470 community projects, and over $100,000 to Indigenous-specific applications since 2021.
Today, we are excited to announce the recipients of the Indigenous Infrastructure Grants, totalling $15,000 in funding to strengthen Indigenous Communities across Canada.
