Western Financial Group Invests in the Ottawa Valley with Support for the Kinsmen Pool

Since opening our doors in the Ottawa Valley in 2019, Western has continued to grow alongside the community we are proud to call home. Many members of our local team have lived in the region for most of their lives, and supporting the people, programs, and places that matter most has always been part of who we are.

Yesterday, we were proud to gather with community partners for a donation check presentation in support of the Kinsmen Pool, an important local facility that brings families together and supports health, recreation, and connection across the Ottawa Valley. This donation includes a $5,000 Western Communities Foundation Community Infrastructure Grant, co-sponsored by Wawanesa Insurance.

Giving Back Where We Live and Work

Since 2019, our Ottawa Valley team has contributed over $60,000 back into the community through student bursaries, community infrastructure grants, and local fundraising initiatives. These efforts have supported causes like the Kinsmen Pool, the Pembroke Laurentian Valley Handi Bus, the Petawawa Pantry, and local food banks.

These investments reflect our belief that strong communities are built through consistent local support, long-term relationships, and showing up when it matters most.

2025 Focus Supporting the Kinsmen Pool

In 2025, our Ottawa Valley branch selected the Kinsmen Pool as its annual community fundraising focus. Through the generosity of our team members and community supporters, local fundraising efforts raised over $4,000 to support the facility. The Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation was also selected as a recipient of a 2025 Western Communities Foundation Community Infrastructure Grant, co-sponsored with Wawanesa, helping fund much-needed locker room upgrades at the Kinsmen Pool.

From local fundraising to long-term infrastructure investment, these initiatives are made stronger through collaboration and shared commitment. As we continue to grow in the Ottawa Valley, we remain dedicated to giving back, supporting local priorities, and investing in the community we are proud to serve.
