The result is the Madisson Cobb Memorial Youth Athlete Bursary Award, which is open to members of the Highwood Current Swim Club and recognizes young athletes who demonstrate perseverance, courage, strong sportsmanship and dedication to athletics, while pursuing their goals and reaching their full potential despite the challenges they may face.
This year’s bursary was awarded to Logan Ewankow, a Grade 10 student at Notre Dame Collegiate in High River and a dedicated member of the Highwood Current swim club, where Madisson also found community and connection through swimming.
Logan has shown strong commitment to the sport, building confidence and skill while learning to work through challenges in practices and competitions. His perseverance has led to Provincial Trials qualifying times, a 50m Freestyle win at Provincial Trials and the opportunity to compete at the 2025 Swim AB Summer Provincial Championships.
Beyond his accomplishments in the pool, Logan is known for encouraging younger swimmers, helping with equipment and contributing to a positive team environment.
