At Western, we believe that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are the cornerstones of innovation and success. Our commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace is reflected in our seven vibrant Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Each ERG is a community where employees can connect, support one another, and drive positive change.
The Black Employees Network and Allies (BENA) is dedicated to fostering community and belonging for Black team members and allies. Together, they celebrate and advocate for equity in the workplace. Our Pride Employees Network and Allies ERG supports the rights and visibility of 2SLGBTQ+ employees, creating a safe and inclusive environment that fosters a sense of belonging and promotes understanding through events, education, and advocacy.
Balancing work and parenting can be challenging, but our Single-Working Parents Network and Allies ERG provides support, resources, and a sense of community. They share experiences, offer practical advice, and advocate for policies that benefit single-working parents. The Indigenous Employees Network and Allies ERG honours the rich cultures and histories of Indigenous peoples, striving to create awareness, support Indigenous employees, and promote initiatives that respect and integrate Indigenous perspectives into our workplace.
Accessibility is at the heart of our mission, and the AccessAbility Network and Allies ERG focuses on creating an inclusive environment for employees with disabilities by advocating for accessible practices, providing resources, and raising awareness about disability inclusion. Our Asian Network and Allies ERG celebrates the diverse cultures and contributions of Asian employees through cultural events, professional development, and community outreach, fostering understanding and support for our Asian colleagues.
Transitioning to a new country and workplace can be daunting, but the Newcomers Network and Allies ERG offers a welcoming community for employees who are new to Canada, providing resources, networking opportunities, and support to help them thrive.
