A playground can be more than a place to climb, swing, or run. For children and families, it can be where friendships start, confidence grows, and everyone has a chance to join in.

A playground designed for belonging

Through the Western Communities Foundation Infrastructure Grants Program, the Foundation is supporting the Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools Foundation’s work to help create the St. Anne School Wheelchair Accessible Playground in Saskatoon.

The project will help make outdoor play more accessible for students and children in the surrounding community. With a design that supports mobility and inclusion, the playground will give more children the opportunity to participate in play alongside classmates, friends, siblings, and neighbours.

Infrastructure grants are intended to help charitable organizations strengthen the spaces that support everyday community life. At St. Anne School, that means helping bring to life a playground that reduces barriers, encourages connection, and reflects the needs of children who deserve to be included in the simple joy of play.

Investing in spaces that help communities thrive

For the Foundation, investing in community spaces is one way to support long-term local impact. These improvements help organizations continue delivering programs, services, and experiences that matter to the people who rely on them.
