International Women's Day: Celebrating Progress with the Launch of C.A.R.E.
As we move forward in our Culture and Purpose strategy, Western Financial Group is proud to introduce C.A.R.E., our signature social purpose initiative designed to help build a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable future. C.A.R.E. (Collective action, Awareness, Responsiveness, Empowerment and Equity) reflects our commitment to uplifting the people and communities we serve, while creating meaningful, lasting change across Canada.
C.A.R.E. focuses on two essential pillars: gender equity and climate resilience.
Together, these priorities create a powerful foundation for stronger, safer, and more sustainable communities, a focus for both our Culture and Purpose strategy and our Communities Foundation. Through this initiative, Western aims to empower women, girls, and gender‑diverse individuals by supporting safe spaces, expanding opportunities, and helping to remove systemic barriers that limit their potential. At the same time, we are dedicated to supporting community-led climate resilience, ensuring that future generations inherit a healthier, more stable world.
This mission takes on special significance as we recognize International Women’s Day (IWD), a global moment to celebrate progress, amplify the voices of women, and take collective action toward equality. This year’s IWD theme, “Give to Gain,” highlights the transformative impact of generosity, collaboration, and shared responsibility. It invites all of us to give what we can: time, mentorship, advocacy, resources, and compassion. When women thrive, families and communities thrive with them.
Partnering with Western Communities Foundation & Canadian Women's Foundation
In honour of International Women’s Day, Western’s Culture and Purpose team is proud to partner with the Western Communities Foundation and the Canadian Women’s Foundation to raise funds that directly support women, girls, and gender-diverse people across Canada. As the country’s public foundation for gender justice and equality, the Canadian Women’s Foundation invests in programs that help individuals build safety, economic stability, leadership, and wellbeing. Their work reaches communities nationwide, including many where Western employees and customers live, work and play, every day.
