Lloydminster Interval Home Society Benefits from $5,000 Infrastructure Grant
The Lloydminster Western Financial Group offices presented a $5,000 infrastructure grant to Resource Development Manager Leanne Wildeman of the Lloydminster Interval Home Society.
The grant money will be used to expand their existing housewares and clothing retail space that is used for fundraising. Proceeds and donations accepted through Interval Home Society’s retail space are used to provide resources, programming, and community outreach for families transitioning from an abusive/unstable environment.
“Lloydminster Interval Home Society provides an important safety net for families in our community. The Lloydminster Western Financial offices work as a team to give back to organizations that contribute broadly to the overall health of our community,” notes Val Rathje, Western insurance advisor.
Lloydminster Interval Home Society is an important part of the community, overseeing the local women’s shelter and youth centre. It also provides programming for seniors, men, women and youth, and provides space and opportunity for families to purchase household items and clothing at an affordable rate. In the past 42 years, Interval Home Society has provided emergency shelter to 6,589 women and 8,194 children.
