Petsecure Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Donation to Nova Scotia SPCA
Winnipeg, Manitoba – July 8, 2014: As part of Petsecure’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the company will make a $15,000 donation to one of their trusted partners – the Nova Scotia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) – at the 2014 Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) convention in St. John’s, Newfoundland on Wednesday, July 9.
Over the past 25 years, Petsecure has grown to become Canada’s largest and most trusted pet health insurance provider. It’s a position the company could not have achieved without its longstanding partnerships with veterinarians, breeders and shelters.
“Petsecure’s donation is incredibly beneficial in helping with our events and initiatives to save thousands of animals every year,” said Courtney Zylstra, Fund Development Officer at the Nova Scotia SPCA. “Through our events, we’re able to raise funds for the shelter to continue providing necessary medical care for the animals.”
The Nova Scotia SPCA works closely with Petsecure and offers a free trial of pet health insurance to its clients for any newly-adopted pets. Petsecure has similar partnerships with shelters and SPCAs across Canada.
“We’re proud to partner with shelters like the Nova Scotia SPCA that see the value in encouraging pet owners to purchase pet health insurance to the benefit of their animals,” said Rod Cunniam, Petsecure’s interim President and COO. “The health and well-being of Canadian pets is always a priority, so it’s our privilege to provide this donation. We’re happy we can help the SPCA continue to provide excellent care for Nova Scotia’s dogs and cats.”
The CVMA convention, at which the donation will be presented, is Canada’s only national multi-species convention. Taking place July 9-12, Canadian and international speakers from the veterinary and human health professions will present on a wide range of topics alongside 65 exhibitors.
