Purposeful Partnerships: Making An Impact TOGETHER

Partnerships are essential in addressing the multifaceted challenges that communities encounter. They allow for the pooling of diverse resources, perspectives, and expertise needed to develop comprehensive solutions. By fostering partnerships across various sectors and organizations, Western Financial Group supports the communities where our customers and team members live to drive impactful change.
This approach aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17), which emphasizes the importance of revitalizing partnerships to address complex systemic issues and reduce inequalities. Due to systemic barriers, equity-deserving groups are often vulnerable and disproportionately affected by social, economic, and environmental challenges. Through DEI-focused collaborations, Western supports building resilient communities that are better equipped to tackle their unique challenges while promoting inclusivity and equality.
Impact for Our People
Care for our People is integral to our success, so we take a proactive approach to building a workforce that truly reflects Canada’s multicultural fabric, which is reflected in our partnership with Jumpstart Refugee Talent.
Western’s partnership with the University of Guelph's Women in Leadership Association (GWIL) is a natural extension of our commitment to empowering women and aligns our values with GWIL’s mission. This collaboration strengthens our relationship with the university community and contributes to developing future women leaders, fostering a positive impact on both organizations and advancing the issue of gender equality.
Impact for Communities
Care for the diverse communities that we serve is part of who we are.
Founded in 2001, the Western Financial Group Communities Foundation is committed to partnering with our team members, business partners, and communities to create Safe Spaces to support Canadians in the moments that matter most. Since its inception, the Foundation has granted over $9 million in communities through innovative community Grants and individual and team giving. From May 19-24, 2025 thousands of Western team members, neighbours, and partners will walk together in over 150 communities across the country to support creating safe places to live, play and work. This milestone event marks two decades of dedicated efforts to support local communities across Canada with over $1 million donated to local initiatives since the event first launched in 2005.
Additionally, Western’s seven Employee Resource Groups support inclusive communities through impactful donations and partnerships with organizations that support equity-deserving groups, create safe spaces and offer critical resources.
We take great pride in supporting Canadian communities with partnerships that truly make a difference.
