Western Supports Vegreville Community Initiatives
Since 1998, CALS has quietly made a powerful impact in Vegreville through its Breakfast Clubs program, providing mid-morning snacks three days a week to over 600 students across three local elementary schools. Hunger shouldn’t be a barrier to learning, and CALS ensures that children receive nutritious food at no cost to families, helping improve focus, reduce disruptive behaviors, and promote healthy habits.
What makes this initiative even more inspiring is the community behind it. The program is entirely volunteer-run, with parents, seniors, students, and special needs adults working together to care for every child, including those with allergies or dietary restrictions.
Funded solely through donations, grants, and fundraising, CALS Breakfast Clubs reflect the compassion and resilience of Vegreville. Through the Western Communities Foundation, we’re proud to support safe, inclusive spaces and programs that strengthen our communities from the inside out.
