Western Volunteers at 2025 Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo
The 2025 Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo was more than just a cycling event—it was a celebration of community, teamwork, and the spirit of the Rockies. While 477 riders pedaled their way through breathtaking scenery, the real champions behind the scenes were our Fondo Force volunteers.
From the early hours of the morning to the final rider crossing the finish line, our volunteers were everywhere: setting up stations, handing out water and cold cloths, keeping riders safe on the course, and cheering with boundless energy. Their smiles and encouragement carried riders through every climb and every kilometer. Western Financial Group's Cranbrook team brought their signature enthusiasm and dedication, helping make sure every rider felt supported.
The feedback from participants was overwhelming. Time and again, riders shared how much they felt welcomed, supported, and cared for. They noticed the details—the friendly greetings, the encouragement at tough spots, and the thoughtful touches that made the ride feel special. That’s the Fondo Force difference.
Cranbrook Branch: Supporting Local, Building Community
Western's Cranbrook insurance branch is deeply committed to giving back to the community we serve. To date, our Cranbrook team has proudly raised or donated more than $13,000 for vital community organizations, including:
- KEYSA Indoor Sports Facility – helping provide a safe, year-round space for youth sports and recreation.
- Cranbrook Food Bank – supporting families and individuals facing food insecurity.
- Community Connects Society – contributing to programs that foster inclusion, mental wellness, and social support.
