Jack is a bright and determined child who loves collecting flags, flying kites, and fishing. Born at 26 weeks, he underwent seven life-saving surgeries, five of which were brain surgeries, to treat fluid build-up in his brain. This condition led to spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, which affects his motor skills. Despite these challenges, Jack’s resilience shines, and his favourite phrase is, “I can do it!” Thanks to donor-supported surgical equipment, research, and ongoing care at Manitoba’s only children’s hospital, Jack is now thriving. His parents are deeply grateful for the support and care that saved Jack’s life.

Basal encephalocele (an obstructive mass of tissue and fluid growing in her nasal cavity.)

Ely loves to sing and dance, but a mass in her nasal cavity once made it difficult for her to breathe. At just 29 days old, she needed a tracheostomy. Thanks to the donor-funded, world-class KidSIM Pediatric Simulation Program, her parents could receive specialized training on how to care for her at home. Once she grew strong enough, she had two operations to remove the mass with the help of community-funded technology. Her tracheostomy was then removed at 18 months old. “The first time we heard her laugh, it was the most beautiful sound,” says her mom.

March 1, 2026 (12:00 a.m. MT) to May 31, 2026 (11:59 p.m. MT).

How does the donation work and is there a limit?

Western Communities Foundation donates $10 for each eligible home, condo, rental property, vacation home or business insurance quote from a new customer during the campaign. Total donations are capped at $50,000.

Do I need to buy insurance?

No purchase is required. Getting a quote alone triggers the $10 donation.

Who can participate?

Residents of Canada only.

What types of quotes don't qualify?

Only home, condo, rental property, vacation home and commercial insurance quotes from new customers qualify. Duplicate, incomplete, fraudulent, or unverifiable submissions are ineligible.

Who makes the donation?

Donations are made directly by the Western Communities Foundation to participating children’s hospital foundations, not customers.

Where the donations go?

Children’s hospital foundations across Canada receive donations through this campaign. Learn more at childrensmiraclenetwork.ca.

Will I receive a tax receipt for participating?

No, Tax receipts are not issued. All donations are made directly from the Western Communities Foundation to the participating local children's hospital foundations.
