Caring for kids through hospital toy drive
Each present in Western’s holiday toy drive haul — soon to be unwrapped by families at the Alberta Children’s Hospital — was gifted with compassion for sick kids and youth. Our team, including CEO and president Kenny Nicholls, delivered the gifts donated from our customers, employees and residents.
We were overjoyed to hear that toy donations help put smiles on kids’ faces. The number of children cared for each year is staggering — 102,000 — yet the support day-in and day-out is life-changing for families. During this special time of year, the magic of the holidays is brought to the hospital. Staff contact the North Pole and invite Santa and Mrs. Claus to meet the excited children.
Oh, did we say there’s real reindeer there too? You better believe it. We know these toys will brighten lives this season. Thank-you to everyone in and around Okotoks, Turner Valley, Nanton, Vulcan, Claresholm and Lethbridge for showing your big hearts.
