Gurleen was Super friendly. Always a pleasant visit. I look forward to visiting when I have to deal with my insurance. I always wind up chatting for a bit and the service is top notch. Always polite & laughs exchanged. Every visit. I have been dealing there for over 15 years. I won't go anywhere else. I did once as it was a Sunday so had to go to super store & wound up dealing with a very rude ignorant Karen. So never again. Western financial Group Inc is the only people I will deal with. Companies could learn how to treat customers & earn respect by watching how there staff treats people.

At Western Financial Group, our insurance brokers help you compare insurance options across Canada, making it easier to find the right protection at the right price. We work for you, not the insurance companies, and our Prince George team provides local guidance for residents in neighbourhoods such as College Heights, The Hart, Foothills, Blackburn, and Spruceland.
Instead of navigating multiple insurance providers on your own, our advisors do the detailed work for you. We compare coverage, benefits, and pricing to help you make an informed choice.
We review insurance options from many of Canada’s leading insurers, including:
Because we work with multiple insurers, we help you find a policy that fits your budget and provides protection that matches your needs.
Insurance pricing always varies based on neighbourhood, property type, or driving habits. Prince George experiences a mix of northern weather patterns, winter road conditions, and urban and rural risks.
Whether you are protecting your home in College Heights, your vehicle with an ICBC renewal in The Hart, your business downtown, or your acreage near West Lake or Pineview, comparing insurance options is one of the best ways to get strong value and reliable coverage. Our Prince George team makes the process simple by analyzing providers, coverage types, benefits, and price differences so you can make a confident and informed decision.
In British Columbia, all drivers must carry ICBC Basic Autoplan. This mandatory coverage includes:
Prince George drivers face unique local conditions that influence insurance needs. Winter driving on icy roads, wildlife collisions along Highway 97 and Highway 16, busy commuting routes in College Heights and The Hart, and forested rural roads in areas like Pineview all add risk. Many residents choose optional protections such as collision and comprehensive coverage to stay fully protected.
We make ICBC Autoplan renewals fast and simple. Whether you live in College Heights, Spruceland, Downtown Prince George, Foothills, or Hart Highlands, our advisors can update your policy, adjust listed drivers, add optional coverage, or help you understand ICBC changes. We make it easy to renew in person, over the phone, or online with a local advisor.
While ICBC sets basic rates, optional coverage pricing depends on your vehicle, driving record, and location. Prince George drivers often experience:
Although every driver is different, many Prince George residents pay between 1,500 and 2,300 dollars per year for combined basic and optional coverage. We can compare ICBC optional coverage and private insurer options to help you find the best rate.
Here are some effective ways to lower your premiums:
All drivers must carry ICBC Basic Autoplan, which includes:
No. Driving without valid ICBC insurance is illegal in BC. Penalties can include:
Always make sure your insurance is up to date before driving.
If you are not at fault in a collision and you carry collision coverage, your deductible is usually waived. If fault is shared, you may pay a portion of the deductible. If the other driver is uninsured or unidentified, you may require additional coverage to avoid out of pocket expenses.
Our Prince George advisors can help you understand your ICBC coverage, compare optional protection, and make sure you stay fully insured on your daily routes through College Heights, Hart Highlands, Downtown, and surrounding rural areas.
Home insurance is not legally required in BC, but most mortgage lenders require it before approving financing. Prince George homeowners face a variety of local risks, including heavy winter snowfall, windstorms, wildfire smoke in the summer months, and increased water exposure in lower lying areas such as Spruceland, Downtown, and parts of South Fort George.
A basic Prince George home insurance policy typically covers fire, wind, theft, and certain types of water damage. Comprehensive policies can offer more extensive protection. Many homeowners choose to add coverage such as sewer backup or overland water protection, especially in neighbourhoods near the Nechako and Fraser River basins or older areas with aging infrastructure. Without home insurance, you would be responsible for all repair or replacement costs for your home, belongings, and outbuildings, as well as any liability claims.
Property insurance costs vary depending on the age of your home, construction materials, neighbourhood, and selected coverage. Across BC, typical premiums range from 1,200 to 2,500+ dollars per year. Higher value homes and rural properties around Blackburn, Miworth, Pineview, and West Lake may see higher premiums due to increased wildfire or distance from fire services.
Local weather also affects pricing. Prince George experiences significant winter storms, potential flooding during spring melt, and wildfire smoke exposure during the summer. These regional conditions contribute to rising insurance costs across northern BC.
Although individual rates vary quite a bit, the average Prince George home insurance premium ranges from 1,300 to 2,100 dollars per year. Your exact price depends on:
Our advisors can compare multiple BC insurers to find a policy that fits your home and budget.
When you reach out to us to start comparing Prince George home insurance quotes, be ready to provide:
A complete policy should include:
Most policies cover accidental internal water damage such as from a burst pipe, but external flooding or river overflow requires optional overland water coverage.
Standard home insurance policies usually do not cover:
Our team can help you understand which optional protections make sense for your neighbourhood, whether you live in College Heights, The Hart, Heritage, Spruceland, or rural surrounding areas. We work with leading BC insurers to ensure your Prince George home is properly covered.
