Western Financial Group Communities Foundation celebrates 20 years by giving to Leduc Foodbank
As the Western Financial Group Communities Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary, the non-profit is giving back to show appreciation. In 2021, The Foundation will sprinkle $20,000 across Canada to celebrate.
This week, The Foundation is supporting the Leduc & District Foodbank (LDFB) and donating $1,000 to support their mission. The LDFB is a supported organization that relies on community donations and volunteer support to provide short term assistance to an approximate population of 85,000 people.
The Communities Foundation has supported over 2,200 charities, organizations, and projects across Canada. Laurette LaPlante, Director, of the Western Financial Group Communities Foundation said that: “They say food is life. Food banks are always struggling for resources but currently, it seems they are in even greater need than before the pandemic. As the Western Financial Group Communities Foundation celebrates its 20th Anniversary, being able to contribute to those communities in a time of need is part of who we are. Being there to support the Leduc Food Bank is an extension of our community and brings us all such great joy.”
