Western Financial Group Communities Foundation supports Weyburn School Breakfast Program
With roots in more than 180 communities nationwide, Western Financial Group Communities Foundation has grown and remained true to its mission as a community-focused non-profit. The Foundation will support an additional 20 organizations this year, on top of their annual givebacks, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Foundation.
This week, the Foundation has donated $1,000 to the Legacy Park Elementary School Breakfast program in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
Over the past 20 years, The Communities Foundation has awarded over 1,280 bursaries to Inspirational high school graduates. Laurette LaPlante, Director, of the Western Financial Group Communities Foundation said: “Many families depend on school food programs to supplement what they can do at home. It has been proven that children who get a good breakfast do better at school, it helps with concentration and alertness. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and supporting these programs is a true testament the employees of Western feel about the future leaders of our communities.”
